Kenya Vision Trip Reflection A few weeks ago, I visited some of our Five Talents program partners in Kenya. While I was there, I was inspired to meet a dynamic entrepreneur named Belinda, who had a business selling honey. She was the leader of her Savings Group with a plan — literally. After going through training, she led her group in envisioning a 12-point plan that included their dreams for themselves and their church. They set their goals to pen and have memorized them as a group, impressively reciting each goal out loud during the Savings Group meeting. I look forward to visiting them again in the future to see how far down their list they go.
During my time there, I also had the privilege to meet with Bishop Musa Kamuren from the Diocese of Baringo. Bishop Musa shared how much it meant to have Five Talents partner with their community. He shared that no other ministries come to partner with these remote communities as they are very difficult to reach and sometimes troubled with cattle disputes between villages. I was filled with gratitude for the work of the church in this region and the part Five Talents could play in their ministry. |
