Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalm 127:1)
Thank you for your faithful support and prayers for the work of Five Talents. From savings group members across central and eastern Africa, to our program partners, staff teams in the US, UK, and Kenya, and supporters across the globe, we are grateful! Each one of us brings what we have, participating in building something better and more hopeful for the future. To God be all the glory.
As we take time to reflect and pray this month Psalm 127:1 reminds us that it is God who is the creator and sustainer of all things. Each of us, and everything, flows from and belongs to God - by grace, we are co-collaborators on the journey.
This month please join us in giving thanks for:
The recent training of trainers on asset based community development in Rwanda. The recent literacy and numeracy training of facilitators with Malawi and Zambia teams. The positive response to the publication, on World Refugee Day, of Anne Figge’s research paper on how savings groups are supporting displaced people in South Sudan. The ongoing opportunities to begin and fund new savings group programs.
Please join us in praying for:
Good health and safety for our staff teams and partners around the world. Communities in Karamoja, Uganda where rain is needed. In addition, please pray for next year’s Ugandan elections. While they are still six months away, the build-up is already having an impact on people’s lives. Our Malawi program partners, as new local staff begin in their roles. The recruitment and selection of a new member of the Global program team, who will be located in eastern Africa. Shortlisting and interviews are happening now. Provision as we begin the search for new office space for our US-based team.
