Subject: Education Changes Lives

Dear Friend,

This time of year, as I see school buses returning to the roads, I’m reminded what a blessing it is that education is free and widely accessible in our country. But in many regions where Five Talents works, access to education is not a given, even though it is essential for escaping poverty. That’s why our programs begin with literacy and numeracy to prepare participants for saving, building businesses, counting change, and reading the Bible on their own.

Five Talents envisions a world where all families can afford to educate their children. Your support is already helping that vision become a reality and opening classroom doors for young people, demonstrated through the powerful story of Masiko. Masiko is a student from Karamoja who is breaking barriers—quite literally—and inspiring other girls in her community to follow their dreams. Click the button below to read her story.

I am heartened by Masiko’s example and by the countless Savings Group members whose increased earnings go directly to education for their children. Our surveys show that 85% of Savings Group members are better able to keep their children in school. That means more education and lower poverty rates for the next generation—especially girls, who are most likely to be pulled out of school if a family cannot afford fees for every child.

During National Literacy Month, will you consider making a gift today so that more girls like Masiko can access the education that transforms a life of poverty to one of flourishing?

Thank you for believing that education really can change lives and communities for the better. And thank you for your financial support and prayers. You are providing the training and resources that put families on the path to financial stability and ensure kids can stay in school.

With heartfelt gratitude,
