Subject: At 58, Judith Opened a New Door

See what became possible when Judith learned to read and write.

Dear Friend,

At 58, Judith had long dreamed of taking on a meaningful role in her community in northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

But having attended school only through second grade, she struggled to read and write — and felt her limited education was holding her back.

Then, Judith joined a Five Talents literacy group.

One year later, she was a confident reader and writer, and soon, those new skills opened a door for employment and for her to serve her community during a critical time.

Literacy empowered Judith to serve when she was needed most. Her story is a beautiful example of what can happen when hope takes root.

Across the DRC, Five Talents is helping women gain literacy and numeracy skills and then build on that foundation through Savings Groups and business training, opening new possibilities for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Will you help more women discover what is possible? Your gift to our fall campaign will provide women in the DRC with the tools and opportunities to learn, save, build livelihoods, and pursue the futures they envision.

Thank you for helping create opportunities for women like Judith.

With gratitude,

Five Talents
