Wayfarers Newsletter

June 2-8, 2025

SUNDAY - JUNE 8

SERVICE - 10 AM

We look forward to another musical adventure with Jeff Willson and Marie Dunkle.

Beth Loveland is our speaker. Her message this Sunday is "Stars in the Darkness: Lessons from Loss".

Following service, we will enjoy refreshments and time to connect with other Wayfarers.

DRUM CIRCLE - Sunday, June 8 (6-8 PM)

Grab your drum (or borrow one of ours!) and join us Sunday, June 8th from 6-8 PM at the chapel for another amazing Drum Circle. Sharing rhythms, we go everywhere from "quiet and centered" to "energized and flying"! This is not a performance. This is full-on interactive fun!

WEEKLY OFFERINGS

MEDITATION GROUP - Mondays at 5 PM

Experienced meditation leaders guide us weekly, introducing forms and approaches to support, build, and deepen meditation practice. Sessions are held in the peaceful setting of our Rosemary's Chapel building, are open to the public, and no experience is necessary.

WRITERS GROUP - Tuesdays from 5-6:30 PM

The Writers Group is a wonderful opportunity to experience the creativity of others as well as hone your writing skills and get feedback on your work in an encouraging, supportive environment. The group meets weekly in RoseMary's Chapel.

MEET THE HINTONS

The Hinton Family - Amy, AnnMarie, Wylie, Charley, and Wes - discovered Wayfarers Chapel three years ago. Wes explained, “We were exploring different theologies and spiritual philosophies and found the openness and values of Wayfarers attractive.” He continued, “Our family has moved a lot following Amy’s medical career opportunities. In 2020, we moved here from Yakima, Washington, and we are happily settled in Otto, NC.” The Hinton home is nestled near a rushing trout stream and National Forest land and houses two dogs, three cats, a ball python, and an assortment of other small, wiggly creatures - as well as the Hintons.

Their lives are full with two demanding careers and the challenges of parenting three active, smart, and creative kids. Amy works as a hospice physician in Western NC. Wes is a consulting engineer for the oil and gas industries. Wylie, their youngest, is 11 and passionate about airplanes.  He builds models with his dad and flies remote-controlled planes at an aero club in Otto. AnnMarie is 14 and enjoys theatre and drama with the North Georgia Players Summer Camp. She is also a budding entrepreneur and runs an online Poshmark store with her mother.  Charley recently turned 16 and enjoys running track and swimming for the Franklin High team. Charley is a remarkably independent young lady, and two years ago spent two months in Japan as part of a cultural exchange program sponsored by the local 4-H Club.

We are so pleased to have the Hinton family as part of our Wayfarers family.
