Heads up! Potluck is one week away, so decide on your favorite shareable dish and we'll see you on the 7th for good food with good friends.

Yep! It's that time again. Whether you want to play or you just enjoy feeling the groove, all are welcome. So bring your smiling self - and your favorite drum if you have one - and join us for an energizing good time. No drum? No problem! We have plenty of drums and percussion instruments to share.

LOOSE SHOES DUO - Sunday, September 28 (2 PM)

Mark your calendars and get ready for fun with Loose Shoes Duo. More details on the group HERE.

PARKING

As we continue to grow, parking is one of the key issues the board is currently addressing - particularly optimizing the number of spaces available AND ensuring suitable access for those using mobility devices and those who, while walking, require close/easy access.

The front parking area in front of the chapel has been lined to designate specific parking spaces. There are two designated handicap spaces - one on each side of the sidewalk. The one on the left is van accessible and is specifically reserved for those who require the use of a mobility aid such as a walker, rollator, or wheelchair.

Please know that the Board is exploring options for increasing the number of parking spaces. Until then, Wayfarers may wish to consider car pooling when possible.

BOARD NOMINATIONS

NOTICE OF DESIRE TO SERVE

ON

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

DUE BEFORE OCTOBER 1st

We have had a few weeks now for folks to express interest and consider servicing on the Board of Directors starting Jan. 2026. Now is the time to commit. Whether you are just now considering it or have already had discussions with board members, please contact a board member BEFORE October 1st to CONFIRM your desire and willingness to serve.

BASIC BOARD INFO BELOW

Wayfarers Chapel is guided by a five member board with rotating terms. The board handles the day-to-day operations (i.e. keeping the lights on and ensuring we have speakers and musicians each week, etc.) and provides guidance on the direction of the chapel (i.e. creation of programs to support our members, capital projects like sidewalks and parking, etc.). The board typically meets for a few hours every two or three months - sometimes a little extra if there are special projects in play.

Board members are elected by the membership for two-year terms on a rotating basis, so every year is a new opportunity. Elections (or affirmations) are held at the annual meeting (Nov. 2nd this year). The next board term begins January 1, 2026.

WEEKLY EVENTS

MEDITATION - Mondays (5-6 PM)

The meditation hour follows a basic format

  • Arrive quietly

  • Introductions, if new faces

  • Meditation followed by brief discussion about the meditation experience

  • 5 minute closing silent meditation

It is a bit like our Sunday Services in that the meditation leader and type of meditation changes each week. This format offers wonderful experiences for both seasoned and novice meditators. Everyone is welcome!

WRITERS GROUP - Tuesdays (5-6:30 PM)

The Wayfarers Writers Group is the perfect environment to be inspired and hone your writing skills. All genres, all experience levels welcome.

LAST WEEK

Last Sunday was music by Katharine Brown and John Howarth, and the message Which Path Are You Choosing? by Kim May.  Kim's message is now available online.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

You can find inspiration from others,

but determination

is solely your responsibility.
