THIS WEEK

APR 19 - NEW THOUGHT DISCUSSION GROUP (from 1-3 PM)

Wayfarers Chapel is part of the diverse teachings and rich history of philosophers, scholars, religious leaders, and mystics - a topic that deserves some examination.

With more than 40 years of New Thought study and practice, Dee Daley will facilitate an informal discussion group based on the pioneers of the New Thought movement. This three session series will be held in RoseMary's chapel from 1-3 PM on April 19, May 10, and May 17. If you are interested in the discussion group, or would just like more info on New Thought leaders and/or ideas, Click Here for an electronic copy of the resource material for the discussion group.

APR 19 - REIKI (from 4-6 PM)

We invite you to come experience the wonder of Reiki. The process is simple. Share your goal for the session with your practitioners and then sit or lie down comfortably while the practitioners connect themselves and you with the universal, healing energy that is all around us. By the end of the session you will find yourself peaceful, relaxed, and rejuvenated.

APR 23 - SUNDAY SERVICE (from 10-11 AM)

Margie Swint starts the day with music. Then resident storyteller Brenda Smith shares her thoughts on creativity in her talk "Square Crayons." After the service, stick around for refreshments and visiting with fellow Wayfarers.

STARTING NEXT WEEK

APR 25 - WRITERS WORKSHOP (Tuesdays from 5-6:30 PM)

The Wayfarers Workshop for Writers, facilitated by Sam Renken, has a simple mission: to foster and provide consistent community for local writers. SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING OUR

CHAPEL NAME

From Board Chair, Jennifer Utley

Hello Wayfarers! Jennifer Here…I want to keep everyone informed about a matter that the board has been handling.

As you may know our chapel was founded back in 1986 by Rosemary Hatfield.  She and Ron Lindahn had attachments to the Unity School of Christianity and when the chapel was first created it was called "Estatoah Wayfarers Chapel and Unity Resource Center".

Through the years the chapel has actually changed names many times. Also, the Unity School of Christianity has changed and become Unity Worldwide Ministries. When we became a lay led ministry, we no longer maintained our direct connection to the Unity Worldwide Ministry organization.

Recently that organization contacted us about joining with them. The board has researched and evaluated our options and decide not to pursue a connection with Unity Worldwide Ministries (UWM). The organization does have a variety of support options, but requires a minister of record and compliance with policies and procedures. There would be a financial impact for Wayfarers as well.

As a result of our decision to disaffiliate from UWM, they require that we remove the Unity emblem and the word "Unity" from our name and documents of record. Thus, the board has officially changed the name of the chapel back to Estatoah Wayfarers Chapel, Inc.

Ruth Henry has worked to remove the word "Unity" from the website except in historical context. However, because our current domain name uses the word "unity", we have purchased a new domain name. The new domain name is www.wayfarerschapelga.org and we will soon transition the website from the old name to the new but will keep the old name active so that folks can still find us.

So what does all this mean? Nothing will change in the way we operate our chapel. Our speakers, core values, messages, and spiritual home will be just the same. We will have to learn a new website address and we will get some new signs and literature with our new official name. But your chapel remains the same chapel you know and love.

As always the board is open to hear your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Please bring them to any board member.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Utley

RECENT

BUTTERFLIES

The butterflies arrived a day later than our Easter Service, but on Monday, kids and adults alike enjoyed releasing and communing with the butterflies.

 APR 16 - SUNDAY SERVICE - 10 AM

The music of Ruth Henry took us straight into a meditative state with her whistling, updated version of Amazing Grace, and chant. In her talk, "This Glorious Moment," April Conner reminded us that we all have a choice in how we think, how we feel, and how we respond in any given moment. April's Talk and Ruth's Music are now available online.

THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.”

“An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.”

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
