Cardboard Boat Race

Float on down to the City of Hollywood Marina for a cardboard boat race!

On Saturday, October 13, gather your crew, build your boat, start your paddles, and visit the Humane Society of Broward County’s Booth!

You can sign your team up to be part of the races, or you can watch and cheer them on!

Prizes will be given for: fastest vessel, last boat standing, most creative design, people’s choice, and most spectacular sinking!

Bow Wow Ween

Bow Wow Ween is the ultimate free Halloween extravaganza for dogs and their owners. Participants can show how creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky their dogs can be to win prizes. Bow Wow Ween includes a variety of dog costume contests for all sizes by category: best family costume, scariest, cutest and funniest costumes, and most original costume, with an awards ceremony, dog games, pet vendors, prizes, promotional items and raffles.
Dog Days at Castaway Island

Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14

There will be a designated area for dogs weighing 25 pounds or less for all sessions. Donations of dog and cat food, treats, blankets, and toys will be accepted on behalf of the homeless animals at Broward County shelters.

A few rules apply: All dogs must be off leash when inside the facility and must be sociable and well behaved. Proof of current rabies vaccination and County license tag are required. Other than lifeguards, no humans will be allowed inside the water playgrounds. Finally, dogs are limited to no more than two sessions per day, and dogs must be at least 4 months of age to participate.

For more information, call T.Y. at 954-357-8811. The park’s regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect for these events.

Pricing/ticketing info: Admission is $5 per dog per 50-minute session (plus applicable Florida sales tax), with sessions beginning on the hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
