Subject: New Webinar from VDOE & VPOST on Childcare Licensure Changes

You're Invited to a Webinar: How Do the Virginia Child Day Licensure Requirements Affect Afterschool and Summer Learning Programs?

On March 11th, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released a Superintendent’s Memo that out-of-school time (OST) programs serving youth ages 12 and younger need to determine whether the program needs to be licensed or meets an exemption from licensure, as outlined in the Code of Virginia.

Join the Virginia Partnership for Out-of-School Time (VPOST) and VDOE, on Thursday, March, 31st at 1:00 PM, as we share vital information on the requirements and potential next steps for programs.

This webinar might be for you if:

  • You are a school division partnering with another entity to offer comprehensive afterschool or summer learning programming. (NOT single interests such as band, sports, drama.)

  • You are a school division or local government that has received pandemic relief funds, such as ESSER II and ESSER III funds, and plan to use them for new afterschool or summer learning programs.

  • You are an organization that offers afterschool and summer learning programs, in a public setting, for school-aged children 12 and younger, and have not filed for childcare licensure or exemption.
