Environmental Design and Green Engineering (EDGE) Free Training and Curriculum

Looking for an engaging STEM program for middle schoolers this fall? Environmental Design and Green Engineering (EDGE), created in conjunction with The Tech Interactive, provides fun hands-on engineering and resilience-building activities!

Programs receive free program leader training and eight (8) hours of engineering focused content for middle school youth!

To qualify for this fall programming, programs must serve at least six youth in grades 5-8, have internet access and one computer per two participants, and attend a training session in mid-September 2025. Brief surveys during and at the end of the program are required. For more information, contact Ariel Rivers.

Getting to Know YES: An Introduction to the YES Engineering Curriculum and Approach

In this recorded webinar training, the Museum of Science introduces the Youth Engineering Solutions (YES) framework for PK-8 engineering. It explores how educators are using the curriculum to meet the needs of all students, prepare a generation of problem solvers, and develop an engineering identity. This training is for any educator who wants to know more about how to use the YES curriculum in any PK-8 school or enrichment setting with students of all abilities!

YES is a free, standards-aligned preK-8 engineering and computer science curriculum from the Museum of Science. Three decades of research and development inform the YES model for engineering learning and empower educators to inspire the next generation of problem solvers.

Activities on Science Buddies

Science Buddies offers engaging, hands-on activities - and every activity cites careers appropriate to the STEM content and skills. A bonus is the opportunity to "ask an expert", giving youth access to STEM educators. Select activities by grade level (K-12) or area of STEM interest (Earth and Space Science, Physical Science, Mathematics and Computing, Life Science, and Engineering).
