On July 31st the EDITH consortium published the first draft of the VHT roadmap. The roadmap is the result of the work done by the consortium with expert input from a wide range of stakeholders, as well as input received during the public consultation phase from individuals and organisations across the entire ecosystem.
POLICY NEWS
EMA has published a draft reflection paper outlining the current thinking on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support the safe and effective development, regulation and use of human and veterinary medicines.
On 26 April 2023 the European Commission released the EU’s general pharmaceutical legislation.
During a press conference held on 5 June, Věra Jourová, the European Commissioner for Values and Transparency, announced her intention to introduce a label that would allow users to easily and rapidly recognise content created through the use of artificial intelligence.

The World Economic Forum's 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions took place from 27-29 June and had a full session dedicated to "Healthcare Systems of Tomorrow"
A new study from NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Grossman School of Medicine reveals that chatbots can be effective allies to healthcare providers' communications with patients.
Thanks to a UPF study with Hospital del Mar and Vall d’Hebron University Hospital it is now possibile to better predict the risk of a spine operation in advance.

EUROPEAN PROJECTS
The In Silico World Associate Partner Programme has been designed to enter new markets, amplify ISW collective international reach, create new outreaches, boost content promotion, and increase the consortium's influence within the in silico trials industry.
SIMCor, as a consortium, formulated a draft strategy for the mapping of engineering metrics of its devices under investigation, obtained through in-silico trials, to relevant clinical outcomes of interest to be investigated in patient-based trials.
The one day-workshop on the Digital Heart, initiated by the EU funded project SimCardioTest, and co-organised by the EU-funded Research and Innovation Actions SIMCor, SimInSitu, the CAS EDITH and the EIT Health project inEurHeart gathered the European scientific community, start-ups, SMEs and industrial companies working on the digital heart, on the 22nd of March in Bordeaux. It was a great success and the start of new collaboration and new events between projects... to come.
