POLICY NEWS
The EC has launched an online survey to share views on the revised version of the "Orientations towards the first Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe" document. The deadline for contribution is 17 November 2019
On 25 October 2019, an interview between Euractiv and Dr. Julia Fentem, the head of Unilever’s Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC), was published in Euractiv’s special report on “Alternatives on animal testing”.
On 22 October 2019, the director general of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), Nathalie Moll published an article entitled “Living with rare disease: hope for the future, access today”.
On 10 October 2019, Ingrid Klingmann, Chairman of the European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP), published a guest blog entry on the website of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) entitled “How big is the need for cross-border access to clinical trials?”.
On 10 October 2019, the European Commission published some guidelines on Good Clinical Practice specific to Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products
VPH COMMUNITY
At the recent General Assembly held in Paris on 4 Oct 2019, the election process of the new Board of Trustees of the VPHi Institute was finalised.
The VPHi is leading a working group in collaboration with representatives of EMA and a number of experts from different fields to identify the most appropriate tools for verifying and validating in silico models in drug development.
The VPHi has recently opened the call for bids to host the VPH2022 conference. Interested organisations should submit their proposal by February 28th, 2020.
A new interesting position paper has been published by Prof Viceconti and all on the credibility of predictive models and the regulatory science aspects of in silico medicine. A must read for anyone working in the field!
The European Commission has published an article promoting the EU-funded InSilc project aiming to create an in silico clinical trials platform for designing and developing drug-eluting BVS.
