Volunteers, Partners in Education, employees, and friends gathered at City Center April 16, 2024 to celebrate community individuals and groups who contributed their time and talents to the students and staff of LRSD during 2023-2024. 

     Emcee-Pat Bradley, U of A Hall of Honor and Arkansas Sports Hall
of Fame, called the shots for the evening. The McDermott Mustang Cheer Squad wowed the audience with cheers and tumbling, next attendees were awed by the Super Sonic Southwest Storm Band.

     The program included recognition of 88 nominees and 31 President’s Volunteer Service Award qualifiers. Over 700,000 volunteer service hours were reported for LRSD since March 1, 2023, equaling an economic impact of over $22 million!

     Gabriel Bond was presented with the 2024 Jane Mendel Award, the district’s highest recognition for volunteerism. Annually, this honor highlight’s a volunteer who has acted as a champion of students and schools by donating their time and energy through many years
of involvement.
