The ViPS Board of Directors hosted the 2022 'An Evening for the Stars' at the Museum of Discovery on April 19. This year's event attendees enjoyed wonderful science exhibits and demonstrations along with traditional recognition festivities.
Over fifty volunteers and community groups were nominated for awards and 33 LRSD volunteers qualified for the President's Volunteer Service Award by reporting over 250+ service hours for the year. The top honor of the evening, the Jane Mendel Award, was presented to Denise Persons. The ViPS Board of Directors and Jane Mendel judging committee recognized Superintendent Mike Poore with the Champion Award.
Volunteer service reported for 2021-2022 totaled 634,528 hours directly impacting LRSD teachers, students and schools.
