February carries a quieter invitation-not to do more, but to soften.

When our nervous system begins to calm, our animals often respond right away.

Our animals are deeply attuned to us. When we slow our breath, soften our body, and create safety within ourselves, they often mirror that shift through deeper rest, calmer behavior, and a stronger sense of connection.


February is a time for regulating energy before movement. It can feel like a pull forward, yet the ground isn't always steady yet.

This short practice supports regulating energy before movement for you and your animal.


The focus is on steady ground, gentle forward movement.

Steady Ground, Gentle Forward:

  • Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly

  • Feel the weight of your body being supported.

  • Imagine a steady, calm energy beneath you, like solid earth or a wide tree trunk.

  • If your animal is with you, allow them to share in the steadiness in whatever way feels natural.


Reflection:
“Notice: does your body soften, or does your breath slow?”


This steadiness is something you and your animal can return to at any time this week.


Small moments of regulation create big shifts.
