Hello Friend,

Hello and a Happy 2011 to you and your pets this still dark Tuesday..

Back to school and all that stuff..aaaaaagh

It will take a while to get back on to a schedule.

I am dreading waking up the children..if only they would respond
like my dogs or cats :-)

---------------------------------
The Health of Our Pets..
---------------------------------

I was in Veterinary Practice for nearly 20 years…in that time I
have seen more than 30,000 dogs and cats…,

And it was NOT unusual for me to see VERY young pets with serious
health disorders, such as Bone and Lymph Cancer, Auto-immune
disease, Chronic Skin Allergies, Degenerative Arthritis, Urinary
Infections, and chronic gastrointestinal disease.

Our pets are poorly fed, over vaccinated, over medicated with
‘conventional’ drugs, and now sicker than ever before.

For example, let's look at some Cancer stats:

Cancer Facts

80 million - the number of dogs in the U.S.
20 million - the number of dogs that will die of cancer in the U.S.
1 million - the number of people diagnosed with cancer in the U.S.
60% -percentage of Golden Retrievers that  die of cancer

Cancer is the #1 cause of death in golden retrievers and that their
cancer rates equal some of the breeds long thought to lead the way
in incidents of cancer, such as Boxers.

The breed's average lifespan is now down to 10 1/2 years.

Dogs and cats have a higher incidence of many tumors than do humans

Dogs have 35 times as much skin cancer as do humans, 4 times as
many breast tumors, 8 times as much bone cancer, and twice as high
an incidence of leukemia.

The only types of cancer that are more frequently seen in humans
than in small animals are not surprising: lung cancer is 7 times
higher in humans, and stomach/intestinal malignancies are 13 times
more frequent in man than in dogs and cats.
