My brother's serious accident

September 16th, 2011 at 5:57 am EDT

My brother Michael has one very sore finger.

He is the guy who answers your emails, sets up websites, does programming, makes the videos and more look good, and overall trys to keep all of our nice Veterinary Secrets customers happy!

Michael also happens to be a handy, 'Bob the Builder' kind of guy.

Like fencing his garden.

Creating a very cool tree house.

Building a outdoor office so he no longer has to be sitting next to the toilet/washing machine/dryer

All this building involves very sharp power saws.

A few days ago he was out cutting siding.

Tired, it was the end of the day

All of a sudden shock, followed by intense pain and blood covering the saw

Michael had put his hand in the wrong position, and cut into his middle finger.

He first looked down and was grateful to see that his finger was still attached.

It's very hard to play bagpipes without all of your fingers

His finger was- he had cut half way through it, narrowly missing the joint, but breaking the bone

After the shock, the bleeding and in his words "the
##f&&i^^ing unbelievable intense pain" ( feel free to swear if you almost cut off your finger)

He performed some basic first aid, followed by a trip to the emergency room, and it is all now starting to heal- minus his nail.

He's one lucky guy!!

P.S. Michael is kind of a quiet person, but I am sure he would appreciate some email cheer- send a note of support if you'd like

P.P.S. Life happens. Illness, emergencies, including all of these things to our dogs and cats.
