Hello Friend,

My NEW printed book, Veterinary Secrets, is to be launched Monday August 4, 2014 on Amazon.

In preparation for this I am releasing a series of 3 videos.

Video 1 called 'Confessions of a Pet Vet' is now live, and you can watch it here:

                          Leaking Urine: Holistic Solutions
CAUSES

The most common occurrence is in middle-aged spayed female dogs. They have lost a source of estrogen that is needed to maintain bladder control. Older dogs and cats are also prone to liver and kidney failure, which may show up as bladder incontinence.

SOLUTIONS

NIGHT WATER RESTRICTIONS
. Only put down a small amount of water at night, but always allow free access to water for the rest of the day.

SUPPLEMENTS. Some glandular supplements can help your spayed female dog produce more natural estrogen. These are generally known as raw gland concentrates. One product available at health food stores is called ‘Female Caps’ (Solaray). The dose is 1/4 capsule per 10 lbs of body weight daily. This can be tried for 30 days to see if it will be effective.

PLANT ESTROGEN. Soy isoflavones are a great source of estrogen. These can be purchased as an extract under the brand name Genista. The dose is 1/4 capsule per 10 lbs of body weight daily. Use for 30 days to see if they are effective. Flax is another good source of Plant Estrogens – the dose is 1 teaspoon per cup of food daily.

NERVY. Back injuries sometimes put pressure on the nerves that control the bladder. Hold your thumb and index finger and locate the dip between the vertebrae on either side of your pet’s backbone. Press straight down for two seconds then release. Start at the middle of the spine and go to the tail. This helps move the spine, keeping it flexible and may release any excess pressure on the nerves.

ACUPRESSURE:

There are acupressure points that control the bladder as well as influencing the adrenal glands. BL1, located on the inside of the eye; BL13, BL14, BL15, located along the spine at the level of the front shoulder; BL67, located on the outside of the lateral toe on the rear foot; SP6, located on the inside of the back leg above the hock; SP10, located just above the knee. Put pressure on each of the points for 1 minute twice daily for 2 weeks. If this appears to be helping regain control, repeat the pressure once per week.

HERBAL:

Herbal therapy is aimed at replacing these with plant Estrogens: Oat Straw and Yams will help. One herbal formula includes: OAT STRAW, PLANTAIN, NETTLE AND HORSETAIL. Dose is 15 drops per 20 lbs of the tincture.

Heal Your Pet At Home!

Best Wishes,

Dr Andrew Jones, DVM
P.S. The book has been pre-released to some wonderful reviews, and I am super excited to see how it will be received with pet owners.

A few reviews..

Provocative...I'm seeing the business of pet care with new eyes.

“I've started reading and enjoying so far. You present a compelling case re: big pharma... which, as a health care professional, I readily agree to their staggering power and influence on physicians and thus, vets alike.”
- Andrea Fagan, BScN, RN., London, Ontario

Comprehensive PET HEALTH resource

“I found Dr Jones book well-organized and thorough. It is a pet healthcare bible of sorts. A great book to refer to find options for your pet's health challenges.

Not only has Dr Jones clearly practiced with these traditional and alternative methods of pet health care (like acupuncture, homeopathy and herbal remedies) but has a clear and logical way of helping lay-people understand the strengths and weaknesses of each healing option.

His writing style is concise and clear. AND he tells it like it is regarding some questionable existing pharmacological options re. vaccinations and medications. HOW refreshing! (and sometimes disturbing to read)

All in all, I have learned a lot from this book and wish I had read it had existed 30 years ago! It will be a very handy resource in my pet library. I have also shipped a copy to my sister who trains Search & Rescue dogs. :)

Thanks Dr Jones. ”

Must have for any pet owner!

“If a pet is part of your family then this book is a must have. It is packed full of helpful, useful information that will make you and your pet happier, healthier and perhaps wealthier, (with less visits to the vet).
With the knowledge that Dr. Jones provides in this book, you can work with your vet to provide a range of options for your pet's health care, and to take charge of your pet's health.
If you are looking for a natural way to care for your furry friends, this is the book you need in your home.
There are other options out there and if you can provide this in a natural way, let's do it! Our pets are worth it;-)
Dr. Jones covers everything from A to Z, it is well written and an easy read.”

— Patty Smith, Enfield NS

I found this to be a GREAT, EASY read! Would make a great gift for any animal lover as well! ”
— Andrea Carpenter, Castlegar BC

P.P.S. During the 1st week of the book release I will be offering a number of extra large bonuses as an extra incentive to have pet parents like you purchase the book.

I *really* want it to become a bestseller, and I know that with your help this can happen.
