Greetings to you this Christmas Eve...
First here is a not to old family pic with my parents, my bother Michael and his family, and my brother Ian and his family..
I am often asked HOW I like my new 'under employed status..
With my 'new' career of being an 'online' veterinarian, I find myself with much more time than I ever used to.
Do I miss being able to perform emergency surgery, or get some instant client feedback?
yup
I miss daily interactions with my staff as well.
And there is nothing like having your ego stroked with a bunch of people calling you:
'Doctor' :-)
Now a days is more like; "Hey you"..
My family on the other hand is quite happy to have me around more, and not spending hours away on emergencies.
And this is ESPECIALLY noticable now during Christmas, as I usually worked most of the Holidays
In truth I would still rather be practicing, but working more part time...

YUMMY Dog and Cat Treats

My new found career leaves more time for domestic chores, like baking...including treats for Lewis, Jessie, Cleo and Gussie
I have tried numerous recipes, but here are 2 that I consider relatively healthy, and ALL of my pets LOVED eating them.
Enjoy!
VERY Yummy Dog Treats ( according to Lewis and Jessie)
1 c. whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. water
1 egg
3 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp molasses
Preheat oven to 350', nonstick pan
Combine ingredients until dough forms, scoop onto baking sheet (or roll out & use forms to cut cookie shapes), bake ~15min, let cool, serve!
Yummy Healthy Cat Treats
1/2 cup of dry milk
1/2 cup of wheat germ
1 teaspoon of natural honey
3 ounces of fresh liver (or strained liver baby food)
Combine 1/2 cup dry milk and 1/2 cup wheat germ; drizzle 1 teaspoon honey on top. Add one 3-1/3 oz. jar of strained liver baby food or homemade blended liver and stir until everything is well mixed. Form the mixture into balls; place them on an oiled cookie sheet and flatten them with a fork.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Bake 8 - 10 minutes.
Consistency should be like fudge.
Store in a jar in the fridge or freeze if keeping more than a few days.
