To those of you who didn't read yesterday's email, you still have a chance to win:

The lucky winner will get a copy of my New course on How to Start Healing Your Pet At Home with Natural Remedies.

Xrays and case history are posted on my blog:

Antibiotic resistance.

Very serious.

Meaning you, your children, your pets could be gravely ill with a bacterial infection, and the chosen antibiotic WON'T work.

Antibiotics are added to virtually ALL food of so called 'production' animals eaten in North America

Think cattle on feedlots, broiler chickens ( meat chickens), pigs raised in intensive farming.

Antibiotics are added in the food in lower levels to get the animals to grow faster, and put on more weight.

More money to the producer.

And you can 'pack in more animals' in a small confined space, with less animals dying.

Here is some info from the FDA site:

The FDA has restricted the use of cephalosporins in animals because of the potential development of antibiotic-resistant pathogens.

The order prohibits the extralabel use of cephalosporin drugs (not including cephapirin) in cattle, swine, chickens, and turkeys. In its order, FDA is prohibiting what are called “extralabel” or unapproved uses of cephalosporins in cattle, swine, chickens and turkeys, the so-called major species of food-producing animals.

I am glad they are finally doing something- although in my opinion, ALL extralabel antibiotics should be banned for food animals.

If they are sick, then treat them.

Can you imagine living in a house packed in with 10,000 people and NOT getting sick?

Exactly.

Time to change our farming practices.

I encourage you all to go to a feedlot, go to see where broiler chickens are raised, go to a slaughter house, and then consider WHAT and HOW you eat.

ALL of our animals deserve better than this.

Best Wishes,

Dr Andrew J
