We've got two new articles this week because things have been very busy!
The first is about Advisory Board Agreements. You know I have been on a mission to help entrepreneurs in our community increase the value they get from their Board of Directors and Board of Advisors. I recently spoke at a StartFEST conference on “Designing the Perfect Advisory Board™” For this post, I’ve done quite a bit of work to share what is available in terms of agreements between startups and potential advisors that I hope will help you as you build out your Advisory Boards.
https://venturewrench.com/advisory-board-agreements-suggestions-and-templates/The second article this month is specifically for SBIR/STTR companies because with the program re-authorization, there are a LOT of changes coming. A company I worked with recently received a so-called "Just in Time" request for a bunch of forms that are required before funding. The bar for SBIR companies, no matter how small, has just been raised pretty dramatically in terms of accounting system readiness, foreign influence and cybersecurity. This article, "New NIH CyberSecurity Questions during JIT Document Requests", also links to the overall JIT requests and accounting system details. Even if you are applying to another agency, I believe this is our first look at the changes Congress has imposed and I expect most agencies will have similar requirements, so be prepared.
