September Choir

by Robert Howarth

From this Sunday I am looking for keen volunteers to join a voluntary choir for the 10.30am Sung Eucharists throughout September. As we return to singing the Congregational Mass and Hymns, I thought it would be nice to have some willing leaders to help everyone back into the swing of normality. I will also bring an easy Anthem to be sung during the Eucharist. I hope that, in the lead up to the University term, we can unlock our voices and be back to full singing strength in time for the return of the University Church Choir. It has been a long time since we have really engaged in singing within our worship, and I for one strongly feel that it is an important part of the Service that we will need to recover in the months ahead.

So, please, if you feel that you can hold a line, are familiar with the Webber Setting that we sing, and are keen to help out, then please do join us. I don’t have a limit on numbers and will sing all by myself if necessary (you don’t want that though…) All I ask is that you turn up for a 0930 rehearsal with a smile, and a song in your hearts.

By all means drop me an email (robert.howarth@universutychurch.ox.ac.uk) and I will answer any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
