SINGING IN CHURCH The government has issued guidance recently to allow the Choir to sing again, but sadly there is still no indication about when it will be possible for the congregation to sing again. A small choir will be singing Lassus, Missa super Pilons pilons lorge, LV416 on Easter Day. On the following two Sundays, we will have a Cantor singing at the 10.30am Eucharist. We look forward to welcoming the Choir back to sing at St Mary’s from the beginning of the Trinity Term.
PHASED REOPENING OF THE CHURCH The church will be open for private prayer from 12noon – 2.00pm from Monday – Friday. From Monday 12 April, these hours will extend from 12noon – 5.00pm. The shop will reopen and there will be limited access for visitors and tourists. Following government guidance and appropriate risk assessments, the tower may reopen on a restricted basis. From Monday 17 May, the shop and tower will reopen and normal opening hours will be restored. Tour guides will also be able to bring groups of no more than 12 people into the church. From Monday 21 June, we hope that we will be able to introduce further relaxations of our safety measures. We will keep all these matters under review and ensure that everyone is informed of the changes as they occur. Thank you for your patience! |
