* In order to address the unique clinical characteristics of each community, the Community Based CPD Program is offered in rural Manitoba locations*: Morden/Winkler and Thompson. A community physician for each location is appointed as program chair . These physicians identify the learning needs of their colleagues and work with the University of Manitoba, CPD Medicine Department to organize these events.

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) introduces concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation in an intensive all-day program.

The program structure features a wide variety of learning techniques, including:

  1. Hands-On Skills Training: Dive into practical techniques that empower you to act swiftly and confidently during critical moments.
  2. Simulation-Based Learning: Immerse yourself in lifelike scenarios, where every decision matters. Sharpen your instincts and hone your reflexes.
  3. Debriefing with Experts: Meet with the neonatal resuscitation team to discuss and evaluate your skills.

- Explain the supporting evidence, indications and contraindications for fine needle biopsy, the particle repositioning maneuver, ear cleaning and nasal packing and cautery in general practice.

- Explain the relevant procedure to a patient including the indication, procedural risks and aftercare instructions.

- Demonstrate appropriate technique in performing fine needle biopsy, the particle repositioning maneuver, ear cleaning and nasal packing and cautery.

 - Identify common complications of the above-mentioned procedures, including appropriate management strategies for each complication.
