Introducing Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
We are thrilled to announce the inclusion of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program in our Continuing Professional Development services at the University of Manitoba. Developed by the esteemed American College of Surgeons (ACS), ATLS stands as a cornerstone in trauma care education, equipping medical professionals with essential skills to manage critical situations effectively.
Comprehensive Training Tailored to Your Needs
Our ATLS programming offers a variety of options to suit diverse learning preferences and schedules. For the Student course, we provide a blend of hands-on sessions, interactive online modules, and hybrid learning experiences. This comprehensive approach ensures participants gain practical skills while benefiting from the flexibility of online learning. Additionally, our Instructor course focuses on hands-on sessions, offering in-person training for those looking to teach ATLS principles to others.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Mindfulness (CBTm) is an educational program rooted in skill development, aimed at fostering resilience and enhancing mental health through proven self-management techniques.

This course imparts essential cognitive and behavioural principles and their application with your clients/patients. Upon completion, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to administer the CBTm program in both group environments and individual settings with your clients.

The Acute Care of at-Risk Newborns Program (ACoRN) is a Canadian initiative focused on providing education on stabilizing newborns, promoting a team-based approach, and caring for newborns who are ill or at risk of illness shortly after birth. It also prepares for the transition to a specialized facility when necessary.

ACoRN utilizes a step-by-step, case-oriented approach to disseminate knowledge and skills. Its structure guarantees its applicability regardless of the severity of a condition or the regularity with which a practitioner comes across specific conditions.


Hybrid event!
The 16th edition of the biennial Primary Care Cancer Day, a joint initiative of the Community Oncology Program at Cancer Care Manitoba and the University of Manitoba, is set to take place this year. The event will adopt a hybrid format, providing both online and on-site participation options at Theater B, located at 727 McDermot Ave, University of Manitoba.

The spotlight will be on Genitourinary Cancers, with a comprehensive coverage of topics ranging from Prostate to Renal, Urothelial, Testicular, and Bladder cancers. This includes discussions on screening, diagnostic procedures, and systemic treatments.
