Join us in Winnipeg, Manitoba for LipCanCon, a groundbreaking national conference bringing together patients, advocates, and healthcare professionals. This inaugural event will feature leading research, hands-on clinical learning, and collaborative discussions aimed at advancing lipedema care and shaping the future of healthcare in Canada.

September 10th: The Doctor-Is-In Clinic (Pre-Conference)

The innovative “Doctor Is In” Clinic pairs internationally recognized lipedema experts with Canadian physicians and nurse practitioners to assess real patients with suspected lipedema. This mentorship-based model provides hands-on learning in diagnosis and assessment while increasing access to care for patients.

Spaces are limited. This activity is offered at no additional cost to registered conference attendees who meet the eligibility requirements below.

Registration Requirements

• Actively practicing Canadian physician or nurse practitioner with an unrestricted license.
• Member in good standing with your provincial or territorial regulatory college.
• Registered for LipCanCon 2026 (September 11–12, 2026).
• Available on September 10, 2026, and able to participate in either the morning or afternoon clinic cohort as assigned.
• Completion of all mandatory pre-clinic learning materials prior to the event.
• Commitment to completing required post-activity evaluations and follow-up surveys.
• Disclosure of any conflicts of interest as part of the registration process.
• Agreement to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable privacy legislation and professional standards.
• Due to limited capacity, this activity is not open to medical residents.

September 11 - 12th: LipCanCon 2026

Day 1 - September 11, 2026 | 7:15 - 17:00
Day 1 of LipCanCon 2026 focuses on the foundational principles of lipedema care, including disease recognition, diagnostic approaches, clinical assessment, associated comorbidities, and the psychosocial impact of living with lipedema. Sessions are designed to strengthen core knowledge while promoting trauma-informed, stigma-aware, and interdisciplinary approaches to patient care through interactive learning and discussion.

Day 2 - September 12, 2026 | 7:15 - 17:00
Day 2 of LipCanCon 2026 explores current and emerging treatment approaches in lipedema care, including conservative therapies, movement, nutrition, pharmacotherapy, surgical management, and interdisciplinary care planning. The day concludes with discussions focused on research advancements, future directions, and collaborative strategies to improve access, education, and patient outcomes in Canada and internationally.

The Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium will cover essential topics in pediatric orthopaedics, hip and knee arthroplasty, sports, trauma, spine, hand, wrist, foot, and ankle surgery.

Dignity in Care Online Training 2026

Dignity in Care is Back and Going Global!

Designed to enhance the human side of healthcare, this 3-day workshop focuses on the role and application of dignity in all aspects of clinical practice. The research, assessment tools, and clinical applications of dignity conserving care will be examined during Day 1, while Day 2 and Day 3 provide a detailed look at the clinical application of Dignity Therapy. If you are looking to expand your ability to care for patients as people, to reconnect with why you chose to work in healthcare in the first place, or to broaden your community of like-minded clinicians, this is the workshop for you.

This program offers a systematic approach to trauma care, emphasizing early assessment, resuscitation, stabilization, and definitive treatment.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Summer and Fall Dates Available!

Enhance your clinical skills through immersive, dynamic role-playing scenarios that closely simulate real-life situations in pediatric emergency care. You will be exposed to a variety of life-threatening conditions, including respiratory distress, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. In these high-pressure scenarios, you will practice applying a systematic approach—utilizing the evaluate-identify-intervene sequence—to ensure prompt and effective intervention. The focus is on refining your ability to recognize critical issues, communicate clearly, and collaborate seamlessly with your team, ultimately strengthening your role as an integral member of the healthcare team in emergency settings.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is designed to teach you how to respond in the first critical moments of a newborn's life. This course teaches the essentials of neonatal resuscitation, including airway support, ventilation, chest compressions, and medication use.
