Dr. Esseddeeg Ghrooda is a distinguished neurologist and Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba’s Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. He currently serves in several high-level leadership roles, including Co-Section Head of Neurology at the University of Manitoba and Medical Lead for the Stroke Program at Shared Health Manitoba.

Dr. Esseddeeg Ghrooda

A pioneer in specialized stroke care, Dr. Ghrooda is the founder and Director of the Province of Manitoba Telestroke Program. His work focuses on expanding access to acute stroke treatments across rural and urban regions. He was instrumental in the opening of Manitoba’s first dedicated stroke unit in 2024. Nationally, he contributes to the Canadian Stroke Consortium as a member of several committees, including the Fellowship and Educational committees.
