This Sunday @ UCC: Telling Time - Leddy Hammock
|
|
(“Affirmations” in Lessons in Truth by H. Emilie Cady, 1895:
“God is life, love, intelligence, substance, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence.”
“I am a child or manifestation of God, and every moment His life, love, wisdom, power, flow into and through me. I am one with God, and am governed by His laws.”
“I am Spirit, perfect, holy, harmonious. Nothing can hurt me or make me sick or afraid, for Spirit is God, and cannot be hurt or made sicko r afraid. I manifest my real self through this body now.”
“God works in me to will and to do whatsoever He wishes me to do, and He cannot fail.”
As I believe, I will receive! |

Join Associate Minister, Judy Tafelski for a seven-week study of the classic Unity text, Prosperity.
Judy will show you how to take the timeless principles in Charles Fillmore's master work and make them apply in a life filled with love, happiness, and plenty.
"What each of us wants, with a desire past all description, is to know and to express God. Your desire for abundance is His desire in you. Your desire for health is His desire in you. Your desire for happiness and freedom is His desire in you. Does not God know how to fulfill His own desire?" |

| | Presentation: Celebrating Satchmo-The Life of Louis Armstrong
|
| Sun, Nov 13 12:00 PM Peace Chapel
From poverty that provoked him to find ways to make money when he was only six, to one of the most celebrated entertainers in history, Louis Armstrong, Dippermouth, Pops, Little Louis, Satchmo…by any name, his popularity was immense and international.
Because Louis Armstrong's talent crossed racial barriers, borders, and genres, people throughout the world loved Satchmo -- and for good reason! His achievements were unprecedented. He was the first Black American to gain sponsorship for national radio broadcasts, one of the first artists to record scat singing, and among the first Black performers featured in major movies. His courageous stand for civil rights helped end segregation laws.
Let’s celebrate his incredible life. His story will inspire you and his music will move you with its celebration of life.

| | | | | November Heart of the House - Bob Preston
|
| In his long tenure as a member and volunteer at Unity Church of Clearwater, Bob Preston has amassed very meaningful recollections. He and his wife Dorothea, who made her transition on July 8, 2015, first came to UCC in 1972. Bob, with his son Rick, occupies last row left every Sunday morning.
Bob served on Unity’s Board of Directors three times. It was he who first encouraged Leddy Hammock to “put her hat in the ring” when the church was looking for a new minister. He fondly recalls seeing the success of his idea to construct a church addition for Sunday School rooms. Bob remembers, too, the influence of Associate Minister Mary Powell who would read Daily Word first as written and a second time, using the plural form of the first person pronoun. Bob still reads Daily Word that way, considering “we” more inclusive than “I.”

| | Wonder What Happens in the Media Loft?
|
| | The loft is a busy place on Sunday mornings. Our Tech Team of 6-9 dedicated volunteers produce the service and handle quite a lot of tasks.
The Tech Team is looking for some helpers and would love to welcome you to visit the loft any Sunday morning during the service.
If you're interested and have experience with Audio/Visual that's a bonus, but the team has both technical and not so technical opportunities and are happy to train you.
The Tech Team is responsible for the following: ● Mixing house audio ● Mixing broadcast audio ● Streaming the service on the internet ● CD & DVD recording ● Camera Operation ● Slideshow Operation ● Lighting ● Duplicating CDs & DVDs ● and more
Oh yeah, one more thing: The Tech Team also has the best seat in the Sanctuary!
Stop up some time and have a look around! Access to the loft is by the stairs on the east side of the Sanctuary.
The team is also looking for one or more stage managers. If you generally arrive early for the service and might be interested, stop by the loft or see Russ Hammock for more details.

| | | Our Board invites offers on the used but dandy Toshiba 2830c copy machine being stored in the Youth Wing.
We would also consider donating the machine to an interested not for profit organization as a tithe from the congregation. |
| | | THE POSITIVE POWER OF DIVINE LOVE HEALS CRITICISM
“How often people have missed the blessings and security of a happy marriage and a good life because they have condemned and criticized, rather than loved their way through the challenges that confronted them! Yet how much easier it is to love your way through a problem than to battle your way through it!
(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation: YOU WIN BY LOVING YOUR WAY THROUGH CHALLENGES. THANK YOU, GOD!
