This Sunday @ UCC: Sunday Kind of Love - Leddy Hammock
|
|
quotations are from the lyrics to “The Love You’ve Always Known” by Paula Hawley
“Let the light pour in your soul; feel it heal you, make you whole as it flows from head to toe. It’s the love you’ve always known.”
“You let love expand your heart with gratitude for every part. See forgiveness light the dark. Know this love is who you are.”
“I let the light pour in my soul. It heals me. I am whole, as it flows from head to toe. It’s the love I’ve always known.”
I feel God’s presence and the warmth of God’s love, right here, right now. This is the love I’ve always known. |

| | | | | | | 2017 Evolution Weekend
This year marks the 12th annual Evolution Weekend. All participating congregations will address the relationship between religion and science this February, especially Feb. 10-12. Unity Church of Clearwater's Senior Minister signed The Clergy Letter early in the history of this project, and has participated every year for over a decade, usually by planning a Sunday lesson topic in February on the general theme of evolution. Our lesson topic on Sunday, February 11, will be "Evolution!"
The Clergy Letter Project is an endeavor designed to demonstrate that religion and science can be compatible and to elevate the quality of the debate of this issue. The Clergy Letter Project has been officially endorsed by the Presbyterian Church (USA), The United Methodist Church worldwide, the Presbytery of the Cascades, the Southeast Florida Diocese of the Episcopal Church, and the Southwestern Washington Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Some 14,000 clergy from most denominations have tremendous respect for evolutionary theory and have embraced it as a core component of human knowledge, fully harmonious with religious faith. At this time, nearly 14,000 clergy representing a long list of faith communities, including many Unitarian Universalist churches, take part in this project,, inspired by the belief that the more evolved our science becomes, the more the sacredness of our universe is revealed!

| | January Heart of the House - Ed Marinacci
|
| As a member of a Sunday New Thought class conducted at Peace Chapel, Ed Marinacci, participating in a Meditation Walk around the grounds, noted the natural beauty of Unity’s Peace Garden. That was his introduction to UCC—from the outside. Later, when he came inside for a holiday candlelight service, what an epiphany!
Today, Ed, who will be welcomed next month as a new member of Unity’s Board of Directors, tends the Peace Garden that he once admired. In the nearly three years since he first came to UCC, he has eagerly assimilated into volunteer activities, serving as a Meetup organizer and attending a variety of classes, seldom missing the Rev. Judy Tafelski’s Wednesday evening prayer meditation service.

| | | | LOVE LETS GO
“A housewife had worried for many months over her husband’s illness. The more she tried to help him recover, the more he seemed to cling to his illness and the more confined they both were. One day she learned of the healing power of release and began to declare for her husband: ‘I release you now to our highest good. I love you and I release you to complete freedom and complete health in whatever way is best. I am free and you are free.’
When this woman had previously tried to help her husband by using various healing affirmations, he had seemed subconsciously to resist her attempts to will him to health. After she began to release him to find health in his own way, ceasing any mental effort in his direction, and began to lead a more normal life herself, her husband’s health rapidly improved. Some of his former ailments disappeared completely. He experienced the healing power of love as it worked through release.”
(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation: THE HEALING POWER OF LOVE WORKS THROUGH RELEASE. THANK YOU, GOD!
