We Are So Grateful!
Construction Update
It's been a long haul and can feel frustrating when things are happening behind the scenes because we so long to see actual construction beginning. So, we try as best as we can to keep you updated with things that can feel a bit like minutiae. This is a tad confusing, but here's the latest....

As we stated last week, the steel supplier had requested verification of some specs which we couldn't provide until we could hire a local architect and engineer. Once we did, that info was sent to them quickly. It was good to hear that the supplier emailed our contractor today to let him know they're working on their shop drawings and will have them sent back to our engineer for review within a week. If everything looks good then our engineer will sign off on their drawings and they'll be able to give us a production schedule. We suspect that will take a few weeks, but we will absolutely be moving in the right direction.

We remain very grateful for the steadfast faith of all those whose gifts of love and substance sustain our Church during this time of transition.  We are very glad to welcome old friends and new friends on Sundays on our home campus.  Watch this space as we give thanks together that God is clearing the way for us to go forward.

Our beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Slow It Down
Highlights:

From the lyrics to “Slow It Down” by Daniel Nahmod:

It’s time to slow it down. Slow it down. Slow it down now.

It’s time to take a breath. Take a breath and slow it down.

It’s time to look around.

Look around at where we are now, at what (who) we’ve become, at where we’re headed. It’s time to slow it down.
*A little bird told her that our structural steel would be in production soon
Last Sunday's Shining Words:

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances” (Phil 4:10 NIV).

Here and now, I have all that I need.
In a Season of Change ....
it sure is good to know that some very precious elements of our spiritual community are not changing! Having come through at least four years of many changes, we are delighted to say that in response to the invitation of our Sr. Minister to consider the importance of consistency in leadership as we see our building taking form during the next year, every single one of our seven steadfast voting Board Members has expressed willingness to remain in service on our Board through the construction of our new Church home. We believe that by this time next year, we will be able to walk into the doors of our new Church together. Thanks and blessings to our Board of Directors: Grant Dansby, Pat Warren, Mary Ann Westmark, Nancy Simmons, June Goburn, Randy Jenkins, and Leddy Hammock!
Transgender Day of Remembrance
Unity Church of Community is an open, affirming, and welcoming community. We are aware that, for generations, our transgender population has endured various forms of mistreatment for challenging the views, notions, and stereotypes around “male” and “female” identity. Transgender Day of Remembrance (Nov. 20) was begun in 1999 to honor Rita Hester, a transwoman whose life was taken violently in 1998. For the past two dozen years, UCC has been prayerfully mindful of those who face discrimination and stigma (often on a daily basis) across the nation. We acknowledge the importance of the rights of transgender people and the challenges they so often face in their everyday lives. Let our minds and our hearts be open and accepting of all God’s children and let us be known by our love.

What is Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT)

Your body is more powerful than you may imagine, filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing.

Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques that utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips, literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

Gather with a great group of positive and supportive folks with healing in mind!

Although Myrtle Fillmore passed to the invisible side of life some ninety-four years ago, the memories of her loving presence still inspire Unity students. Along with her husband, Charles, Myrtle Fillmore co-founded the Unity movement from the wealth of spiritual thoughts that radiated from "Mama Myrtle" (the name her co-workers lovingly called her), and continue to bless countless people, as she proved the universal Truth principles in her life and ministry of love.

Throughout the month of November, our prayer services at UCC are based on her writings pertaining to prosperity, harmony, and Thanksgiving in How to Let God Help You (published in 1956, compiled from her class notes in 1883 under the guidance of Emma Curtis Hopkins, who also inspired Emmet Fox along with the founders of Divine Science, Religious Science, the Homes of Truth movement by Annie Rix Militz (who inspired our Sr. Minister's first minister at the St . Louis Truth Center in the late 1940's, Dr. Emil C. Hartmann) and thousands of others, then and now.

We give thanks for Unity in this thanksgiving season!
