This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Only Love
|
|
Highlights:
We take to heart these mighty words of The Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., spoken in 1963: “As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.” “With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope ....” “With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together....” “With this faith we will be able ... to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.... Let freedom ring!”
*Leddy and Tech Team member Vicky Alderman after church this past Sunday

Last Sunday's Shining Words:
“The old things have passed away’ behold, new things have come” (II Corinthians 5:17).
“So bring it on, everything new, everything different, everything true. I am ready for my next thing to do. Oh, I know, it’s gonna be everything new.” |

Meet Our New UCC Board Candidates
|
| Introducing June Gobern-Ray
June first attended UCC in 2016 and started attending regularly in 2021 when she relocated from New Jersey to Clearwater Beach. Prior to UCC, she was a member of Unity Church of Christ in Maywood, NJ (also known as Teaneck, NJ), where she served on the Board of Trustees for six years in various roles and is currently working with the existing Board there on a capital campaign to eliminate the current mortgage. June has twenty years of experience in healthcare industry, with fifteen years in the pharmaceutical industry in various roles and leading multiple teams, including sales representatives, regional managers, director, key strategic account manager, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She also spent over ten years in the New York City Health and hospital setting, where she functioned in various Nuclear Medicine, MRI, and Ultrasound supervisory roles and served on the Board of Directors for Putnam Credit Union.
June brings great value to each team with whom she has worked, thanks to her strategic account management experience, her diverse leadership experience in highly competitive markets, and her exceptional collaboration, founded on trust, mutual accountability, and a passion for making a difference. She is always happy to serve.
June received both a BS in Medical Technology and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also holds a Certificate in International Business from Wroxton College, England, a certificate in Frontline Leadership from Columbia University and a Nuclear Medicine AMA Certification from JFK School of Nuclear Medicine. June is also a certified Nuclear Medicine and MRI Technologist.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling the world with her husband, James Ray (she has visited all fifty states!) and, in season, watching and supporting the Kansas City Chiefs. Her husband is currently retired from the Airforce and spend most of his time on the golf course. June is looking forward to retirement at the end of 2025 and starting a non-profit on Healthcare Disparity and Patient Advocacy. We welcome June to UCC! |
| Introducing Randy Jenkins
UCC welcomes our new Board candidate, Randy Jenkins! He and his wife of thirty-four years, Jan, have been attending Unity Church of Clearwater for twenty-five years. Randy was raised in the Baptist Church and Jan in the Episcopal tradition, so when they found Unity, it felt like a nice change and a better fit for both. Randy worked for Baycare Health Systems for twenty-eight years as an MRI technician. He still works part-time for Baycare, as called upon. They have two daughters--one in Illinois and the other in Colorado. They have six granddaughters, ranging in age from nine to twenty-six. They also have two kitties: Lady and Paxy.
Randy and Jan are avid bike riders. They, along with their long-time bike buddies, have cycled in Europe, California wine country, Door County Wisconsin, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Vermont, and many cities in Florida. Their other great passion is volunteering and supporting Suncoast Animal League in Palm Harbor. The shelter is a no-kill, no time limit organization, with compassionate staff and volunteers and, of course, many loving animals who are ready for forever homes. Randy is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Church and we are truly grateful for the Jenkins! |

What is Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT)
Your body is more powerful than you may imagine, filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing.
Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques that utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips, literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.
Gather with a great group of positive and supportive folks with healing in mind!

About Unity's Winged Globe
|
|
| |
|
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
Your gifts to Unity Church of Clearwater are tax deductible as allowed
by law. Our life-affirming work is supported by the loving and generous
offerings of friends like you. Please give as your grateful spirit
leads you. You can also support Unity Church of Clearwater by leaving a
legacy of prayer and hope in your will or estate plan. Right now,
right where you are, you are blessing this ministry through your loving
thoughts and you, also, are blessed.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

“I’m concerned about a better world. I’m concerned about justice; I’m concerned about brotherhood and sisterhood; I’m concerned about truth. And when one is concerned about that, he can never advocate violence.… Darkness cannot put out darkness; only light can do that.
And I say to you, I have also decided to stick with love, for I know that love is ultimately the only answer to humankind’s problems. And I’m going to talk about it everywhere I go. I know it isn’t popular to talk about it in some circles today. And I’m not talking about emotional bosh when I talk about love; I’m talking about a strong, demanding love. For I have seen too much hate. [...] and I say to myself that hate is too great a burden to bear. I have decided to love. If you are seeking the highest good, I think you can find it through love. And the beautiful thing is that we aren’t moving wrong when we do it, because John was right, God is love. He who hates does not know God, but he who loves has the key that unlocks the door to the meaning of ultimate reality.
And so I say to you today, my friends, that you may be able to speak with the tongues of men and angels; you may have the eloquence of articulate speech; but if you have not love, it means nothing” (The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., in “Loving Your Enemies” a sermon delivered at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1957). |
|
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:
“I HAVE DECIDED TO STICK WITH LOVE AND I’M GOING TO SPEAK LOVE EVERYWHERE I GO.”
THANK YOU, GOD! |
