WE CAME THROUGH THE STORM TOGETHER |
|
|
 |
Dear Unity Family,
We
have come through the storm! Many have come through with fairly light
damage to fencing or trees, and most seem to have gone without
electricity and internet for a few days, sometimes longer. Discovery
Academy just got its internet and a/c, and welcomes us to return to
in-person services on the campus this Sunday, October 20. Please let us
know how you made it through the storm! We are standing by!
Here
is a very meaningful quote posted on Facebook by our dear Music Team Guitar Player
and Master Audio Engineer (among other things), Mike Abdishi. You will love it, too!
"Always look at your BLESSINGS.
Yes,
I have lost a majority of my beloved trees. Perhaps now, there will be
some sunshine coming through to grow some things I could not before.
Last night's rising full moon was still breathtaking in spite of a lot
of the now-missing moon shadows. My family, my house, my shop, and all
of my guitars survived.
Others are not so lucky. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Be kind. Be safe. Help where you can."
What a beautiful message. We continue to look for blessings, even through many changes, and we help each other through.
Lovingly, Leddy & Russ

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Hold On
And We Remember Alan Haynes
|
|
Inspired by lyrics to “What I Hold Onto” - by Sue Riley and Melinda Wood Allen
With the hard-earned wisdom I have now, I wouldn’t do again what my old self would allow.
What I hold onto ... wouldn’t let me be free .... Now I see, I’m getting closer to a new, more peaceful me.
I’m holding onto what I want to keep. I feel lighter, I sleep better; it’s love that’s holding me.... My new religion is live and let be.
What I hold onto holds onto me. Now I can stand back and see – the past is the past, but the future’s up to me. What I hold onto holds on to me....” |
|
|
Alan Ross Haynes (pictured above) is lovingly remembered as a former member of
UCC's Music Team (guitar and vocals), volunteer landscaper, and
President of our Board of Directors. Though he had moved to North
Carolina with his wife, Anna (Leddy had performed their wedding ceremony
years ago), the couple stayed in touch with this ministry, often
joining our services by livestream. Last Sunday, the family asked that
he be remembered in our worship service, which was presented by Zoom and
song sung by Alan, with harmonies from members of our Music Team,
including Rev. Sue Riley. The family held a cell phone close to Alan's
ear and he listened to the entire service and smiled. A little later on
Sunday, he made peaceful transition, with dear ones all around him.
Alan is forever connected to our Unity circle. |

Last Sunday's Shining Words:
“Your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father” (Mt. 5:14-16).
All we can do is love one another and that will be enough. This is how peace on earth begins. |

About Unity's Winged Globe
|
|
|
|
|
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
Your gifts to Unity Church of Clearwater are tax deductible as allowed
by law. Our life-affirming work is supported by the loving and generous
offerings of friends like you. Please give as your grateful spirit
leads you. You can also support Unity Church of Clearwater by leaving a
legacy of prayer and hope in your will or estate plan. Right now,
right where you are, you are blessing this ministry through your loving
thoughts and you, also, are blessed.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

"The thing to bear in mind is to take with you and hold on to all that you gain on the mountain top of prayer, and not let go of it when you meet the thoughts and states of mind on the material plane that need to be spiritualized. In other words, maintain your spiritual poise and control when you meet adverse thoughts.... We make conscious union in the silence with the all-providing Mind, lifting our thoughts to its standard of Truth and holding them in this Truth as we go about our own particular duties of living" ("Going into the Silence" from Myrtle Fillmore's Healing Letters, 1936). |
|
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:
"I HOLD ON TO ALL THAT I GAIN ON THE MOUNTAIN TOP OF PRAYER AND I DO NOT LET GO OF IT."
THANK YOU, GOD! |
