KEEPING THE HIGH WATCH THROUGH THE STORM TOGETHER |
| | Dear Unity Family,
We're
all all making appropriate preparations as Hurricane Milton is headed our way.
Watching the weather reports, we are aware that an evacuation order
has been issued for Pinellas County. Therefore, we're
planning to present our regular Zoom events this week,
provided we still have internet. By Saturday, we should have a clearer
idea of how feasible it seems for us to present our Sunday service at
Discovery and by live-stream, as usual, on Sunday, Oct. 13. If navigating after the storm
appears to be a challenge for a number of folks, Russ and I will plan on
present a prayerful Sunday lesson by live-stream this Sunday morning. Watch your
email for announcements at the end of the week. We give thanks for Divine Guidance. Let all that is
precious be safe - YOU are precious! Let peace be with us, every one.
For now, we keep a prayerful High Watch, together.
Blessing for the Passing of the Storm - LH 2019
“O, Infinite Creator, we turn to You, keeping the High Watch as we pray. Lord, let me be mindful that, every day, in
perfect serenity and rest, the Christ resides in the stern – at the heart – of
the vessel of my life, on a cushion of spiritual repose. Let me remember that the Master is always
here with me, all through this storm and in the days to come.
Lord, let me be aware that, just as when seas
are calm around me and I seem to sail through life, when storms do come, You are
still with me – Still with me. O,
Lord of the Universe, Master of the winds and waves, Stiller of the storm, You
are always at my side, You always hear me and care for me. Whether storms build or diminishes, make
landfall or spin away to other shores, to dissipate and disappear, remind me that this storm, too, shall pass.
Remind me of this changeless Truth whenever a storm rises on the horizon, whirling in my
direction. Even as the waves beneath me sway rise and this vessel pitches and
falls, keep me centered. When I cry out, humanly, ‘Lord, help me!’ Let me hear Your
voice – Your voice, calmly answering, ‘Beloved, I am here. Where is your faith? Let your faith hold fast
to Me.’
O, Lord, let me remember how You showed us the way to still the storm by
declaring to the chaos: ‘Hush, be still.' Only Love and Light have power in my mind and heart. I am comforted as I pray in this spirit: 'Peace, be
still. Peace, be still. LORD, You are with us always, and you are blessed
always.’ Thank You, God. Amen.”
Peace be with us in the Unity of Spirit. |

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Hold On
|
|
Inspired by lyrics to “What I Hold Onto” - by Sue Riley and Melinda Wood Allen
With the hard-earned wisdom I have now, I wouldn’t do again what my old self would allow.
What I hold onto ... wouldn’t let me be free .... Now I see, I’m getting closer to a new, more peaceful me.
I’m holding onto what I want to keep. I feel lighter, I sleep better; it’s love that’s holding me.... My new religion is live and let be.
What I hold onto holds onto me. Now I can stand back and see – the past is the past, but the future’s up to me. What I hold onto holds on to me....” |

About Unity's Winged Globe
|
|

|
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
Your gifts to Unity Church of Clearwater are tax deductible as allowed
by law. Our life-affirming work is supported by the loving and generous
offerings of friends like you. Please give as your grateful spirit
leads you. You can also support Unity Church of Clearwater by leaving a
legacy of prayer and hope in your will or estate plan. Right now,
right where you are, you are blessing this ministry through your loving
thoughts and you, also, are blessed.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

We are told that God speaks to Job out of the whirlwind. The whirlwind symbolizes the intuitive inspiration and revelation of truth that comes from God’s Spirit within us. This whirlwind will seek to help us resolve the conflict that we all experience between revelation and reason. This inspiration will help us to make sense out of the material world which seems to make no sense when viewed intellectually. God begins to ask Job a few questions .... Job finally gets the point ... Now his mind is illumined. In this new inner illumination he will begin to harmonize his reason with the new revelations and inspiration that will come to him.... If we would always listen to that still small voice of the Lord within us and be obedient to it we would be richly blessed.... He finds peace of mind.... He is now ready to be teachable.... The story has a beautiful conclusion. Job is blessed more abundantly than he has been before.... Job makes a very profound statement. He says, 'There is a spirit [ruah, that is, like a great power of wind] in man; and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding'" (Unity Minister, Jim Lewis, Biblical Favorites, 1985). |
