Thanksgiving in the USA and the celebratory food.

It’s that time of year when we say it is the day to give “thanks”. To be filled with gratitude for all we have and for all we can give in this loving flow. Family and friends come together, joyfully preparing their feast. Decorated with happy colors, people make plans to eat and eat. Still, within this grand event celebrated in the “Land of the Free”, is a reminder of how limited freedom is for our animal friends. When will this prejudice end? We all have various shapes and sizes, expressions and voices. We all carry the same divine spirit, the consciousness, that allows us to be “me”.

Look into the hearts and lives of the Turkeys. They are loving and smart, and each have unique personalities. They love being alive. They have families and friends, too. How has it happened that humankind has forgotten to be kind to these sentient beings? Please, I beg all to awaken to the souls living in the precious bodies called animals. We should not hold prejudice or feel we have the right to take them for food.

On this day and everyday...can people stop for one minute and look into the Turkeys’ eyes and also see into their factory lives. We must face reality…the knowledge is here.

Let us be thankful for this planet and may we strive to end the slaying of Turkeys in celebration of friendship. Their freedom is important to them. As conscious beings we all want to live and do what we’ve come to do.

I give thanks for the knowledge of vegan.
I give thanks for supporting the health of all sentient beings and for our temporary home on planet Earth.

May we all give THANKS and GIVE...freedom to all.

In November, Kaliji shared TriYoga at the TriYoga Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with the TriYoga Community in Portland, Oregon, and broadcast Yogaflow and Nada Live Online classes worldwide.

In the Nada Yoga class, Kaliji offers a systematic introduction to chanting and music theory-- students can join live, watch replays, and download practice material. A wonderful way to add music to your yoga sadhana. The next online classes are December 12th.

Power Bars
submitted by TriYoga teacher Katherine Collyer in Ballarat, Australia, adapted from
"The PlantPower Way." Katherine makes these bars together with her young daughters,
who love TriYoga practice with Kaliji's DVDs and exploring vegan diet with their Mom.
1 cups soaked Almonds or Walnuts
(I used the Almond meal from my nut milk)
1/4 cup cacao nibs
1/4 cup hemp or sunflower seeds
1/4 cup dried goji berries
2 tablespoons cacao powder
1/4 cup shredded coconut
pinch salt (optional)
7 or 8 dates soaked in filtered water
(I used Medjool dates)
Method: Pulse the nuts in a food processor, then add all other ingredients except dates. With motor running, add dates one at a time until the mixture starts to form a ball. Press into a tin lined with baking paper and that's pretty much it!!

Upcoming event

The story of mystic Paramahansa Yogananda, and his inspiring role in bringing meditation and yoga to the world.

Kaliji will be watching this movie on Netflix on Thursday, November 26th. Watch and share your responses on the TriYoga Facebook page.
