FONTANA: major UPDATE in article!

FRIDAY 11 APRIL 2025

Hi, Friend!

It's me, Lynn Serafinn from Trentino Genealogy again.

OOPS!!

After I published my article on the Fontana earlier this week, it was pointed out to me (by more than one person!) that there was still a Fontana living in Romallo, despite the fact that the populations statistics website says there were none.

So, I spent all day yesterday looking more deeply into the entire history of the beginning of the Romallo line, i.e., who from the Revo' branch settled in Romallo and when, and how many of their descendants today still carry the Fontana surname.

I have now COMPLETELY rewritten that section of the Fontana article (and eBook), and I have also accordingly rewritten the section 'Fontana, Fontana, Everywhere!', in which I look at the various groupings of the Fontana, from an ancestral perspective.

I hope you forgive my error, and that you will enjoy the new changes. Again, you can read the article (and buy the eBook) at:

The FONTAN Families of Trentino

You can READ the full article at this link:

If you like this article and want to keep it, you can purchase the 26-PAGE PDF eBook for $3.50 USD on the website. That way you can print it out and share it with family over the holidays.

In this article, I discuss:

  • Linguistic Origins of the Surname Fontana

  • Fontana in Val Rendena

  • Fontana in the Northeast (Fassa, Fiemme, and Primiero)

  • Fontana in Val di Cembra

  • The Ancient Fontana of Saone (Giudicarie Interiore)

  • Fontana in Giudicarie Esteriore

  • Fontana of Lizzana, Rovereto and Pomarolo (Vallagarina)

  • Fontana in Alto Garda and Valle di Ledro

  • Fontana in Valsugana and Tesino

  • Fontana of Revò and Romallo (Val di Non)

  • Fontana in Other Parts of Val di Non

  • Fontana in Val d’Adige

  • Fontana, Fontana, Everywhere!

  • An Interesting Bit of Trivia

I am grateful for your feedback, so I could make these corrections!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Warm wishes,

Lynn Serafinn
