Subject: Study the Powerful. Support the Work.

Authoritarian power is rising. Independent research is more important than ever.

Dear Friend,

In the last week, I have been grieving along with people around the world the death of Susan George, TNI’s honorary president and a brilliant public intellectual and activist. She inspired and educated so many movements fighting against debt slavery, corporate impunity, war-mongering, and neoliberal austerity.

Susan’s mantra was ‘Study the rich and powerful, not the poor’. She knew that to ensure that everyone has a dignified life, we need to analyse and confront the powerful global forces that impoverish people.

Inspired by her, TNI launched  our annual  State of Power report to expose the global forces driving injustice. Every day, we continue this work, providing critical research and education to movements and activists worldwide.

Yet when we need this work the most, TNI faces deep funding cuts. We don’t know if we will have the resources to pay for another State of Power. We don’t know if we will be able to deliver our popular courses and webinar series next year.  Our ability to challenge the systems of power is not guaranteed.

Susan often said that the left must learn from the right about investing in ideas. Now more than ever, movements need the research and analysis that can change the world.

We appreciate your continued commitment to our work and your support makes a difference. Please consider making another donation today. Thank you for being part of this movement.

In solidarity,

P.S. The forces undermining democracy are organised and well funded. Our response must be just as committed. Please make a donation today and help protect independent research when it is needed most.
