We invite you to enrol in Cities Beyond Growth, an online course that brings together critical urban scholarship and grassroots perspectives to explore how cities can move beyond the dominant paradigm of endless economic growth toward more just and sustainable futures.


The course kicks off on 8 October, and registration is still open.

About the course

Cities Beyond Growth is a six-week online course (8 October– 18 November 2025) that explores how urban life can be reimagined through post-growth thinking — centering justice, care, and ecological sustainability over GDP growth.


The course will be available in English / Spanish /Czech

The course combines:

  • Self-paced learning on Moodle (videos, readings, interactive resources)

  • Weekly live masterclasses (Wednesdays, 15:30–17:00 CEST, recordings will be available after the live sessions) with scholars and practitioners working at the forefront of urban transformation

  • 22 Oct – Housing

  • 29 Oct – Food

  • 5 Nov – Urban Mobility

  • 12 Nov – Democratic Technology

  • Insights into strategies linking grassroots innovation and institutional change
