| | Here is a brief update for prayer and praise:
1. We thank the Lord for the dear saints who have welcomed us as we have spoken recently at Abundant Life Baptist Church (Lees Summit, MO), First Baptist Church (Chariton, IA) and Second Baptist Church (Liberty, MO). Praise God for these opportunities to speak about Bible translation for Roma (Gypsies) and to ask more and more people to pray for this ministry.
2. Before we return to Hungary, we have only two dates left in our speaking schedule, Sunday Oct. 25 and Nov. 29. Pray that if the Lord wants us to use those for speaking that He will open up opportunities. We have tried to fill those slots but as yet have not had invitations for these dates to speak.
3. Pam and Elizabeth enjoyed a wonderful two-day women's retreat at a camp in Oklahoma with Abundant Life Baptist Church (Lees Summit, MO). Praise God for the good teaching and fellowship and for new friends they could meet.
4. Our dear missionary friend and colleague, Andrea, a home schooling mother of five whose family works with us with Roma in Serbia will be undergoing a lumpectomy for breast cancer at a hospital in New York. Please pray for successful surgery, for no spreading to lymph nodes and for complete healing.
5. We're thankful that our new teammates, Taylor and Helen, have arrived safely on the field and are living in our house in Budapest (pictured below at our kitchen table in Budapest with some of our other teammates), and we're also grateful that teammate Lidia, who is raising support to come to Hungary, is there for a couple months as well. Praise God for bringing them to the field.
6. Pray for our dear sister and teammate, Joy, who has been back in Budapest now for five weeks. Pray for her as she studies the Hungarian language, re-adjusts to life in Budapest, and drives there (different side of the road, lots of traffic, etc.).
7. As we speak this Friday and Sunday at the missions conference of Master's Community Church (Kansas City, KS), please pray that the Lord will move powerfully and be greatly glorified in this dear church.
Thank you for your prayers, Todd
