Here is a brief update for prayer and praise:

1. Yesterday I was talking to a friend, R. here in the States whom I hadn’t seen for two years since we have been away to Hungary. She told me with joy how her family had gotten involved in a local church and she had gotten baptized! Several days earlier, we heard about a Bosnian friend of ours, E., whom we hadn’t seen for about a year. He, too, along with four others, just got baptized! I had been praying long ago for R. in the States and E. in Bosnia, but must confess that I doubted that either one would ever become believers. Yet in about a week’s time, I hear that they both took a step to follow Jesus. Amazing. I am humbled, rebuked and reminded that “Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up" (Luke 18:1).

2. On the home front, we’ve been back in the States six weeks and have already put 4,500 miles on our van including trips to Iowa. It has been great to see Pam’s parents and sister, my parents and sister, some of you who support our ministry financially, and also to spend time with Timothy, Jonathan, Stephen and Elizabeth here in Kansas City. We are praising God for a new full-time job for Timothy in KC as an in-home care giver for mentally delayed adults, and a great summer computer science internship at IBM for Jonathan as well as a car to use. Matthew has a job interview lined up and will be starting Calvary Bible College next month. He and Kirsten have enjoyed a week each at Bible camp. Kirsten and Daniel have enjoyed two VBS programs, and Ariela has been a good little traveler (pictured below on the swing at Grandma’s in Iowa).
3. We found out that our dear teammates with IMB who work among Roma in Serbia (whose Bible club was just shut down by the police) are in Budapest for medical treatment. Please pray for the mom, a home schooling mother of 5, as she has a lumpectomy next week in Budapest. "Oh, Lord, have mercy on her and touch her with your healing hand!"

Thank you so much that we can come to you any time, both with praises to share of what God has done, and burdens to share to ask you to pray for. Surely it is good when brothers (and sisters in Christ) dwell together in unity.

Todd
