Thank you for praying for our recent trip to Croatia. The Lord answered so many specific prayers including these:
1. We found a house that is furnished, has all the rooms we need for our family, plus for Todd's office and a large meeting room for hosting guests and holding Bible translation meetings with our Roma translators. They lowered the price to an amount in our budget and are even giving us one week free for moving in before the rent begins.
2. We had no problems crossing the borders out and back in to Hungary, although we did have to wait in line for 1 1/2 hours when entering back into Hungary! Thankfully, we had just stopped before that for gas and a bathroom break, we had snacks with us in the car, and Pam had brought a Little House on the Prairie book so we did family read aloud time while we waited in the dark.
3. We got the information we needed for applying for visas and had a great meeting with the pastor of the local Baptist Church and his family; this is the denomination that will be sponsoring our visas applications each year. We're so grateful for them.
4. We had good meetings with friends in Osijek, Croatia, and Todd had several hours to meet with Djeno and Biljana and they worked on spell checking in the Chergash draft of three of the gospels, Acts and Romans.
Here are some prayer request for our next steps:
5. Pray we can find a company for painting the inside of the house we rent in Budapest, which is a requirement in our contract, and that it will be much less expensive than what we have been quoted so far, and that the landlord will be happy with the work and condition of the house and be fair in assessing what is normal wear and tear from living here 4 1/2 years.
6. Pray we can find a truck, truck driver and import company for moving our personal effects from Hungary to Croatia. Pray it would not be too expensive, for favor in the eyes of the government for customs, and for all the paperwork we need. Pray we can also import our vehicle inexpensively.
7. Pray for strength, stamina, wisdom and efficiency in getting everything packed up in Hungary so we can move to Croatia, Lord willing, the last week of March.
