Now published! Four years in the making. The New Testament newly printed in Arli, Gurbet & Chergash

The picture above represents the culmination of years of work: a newly printed New Testament in three new languages. How we rejoice at this milestone! The shipment arrived at our translators the other day, and here is what one of them said:

“Today, we are witnesses of something great. We unloaded from the delivery truck 7,000 copies of the New Testament in three Roma dialects: Arli, Gurbet, and Chergash.

After four years of work, prayer, and sacrifice, glory belongs to God that today we can see the fruit. What brings even greater joy than just the translation is that God’s Word is being used and is alive among the Roma people. This is the true success.

Soon we will have the dedication and distribution of these New Testaments, when we will together thank God and rejoice in what he has started and what he continues to do. May God’s Word spread, change hearts, and bring life. All glory to God!”

In these three languages, we are making good progress in translating the Old Testament as well, currently in 1 Samuel.

OUR CURRENT PROGRESS IN EUROPE:

New Testament: completed in Arli, Gurbet & Chergash
Old Testament: currently in 1 Samuel in Arli, Gurbet

& Chergash
New Testament: currently in Luke in Macedonian Arli
New Testament: most of NT is complete in Aromanian
New Testament: ready to begin in Montenegrin & Bayash

We are super excited to announce that this month, we will restart the work of translating the New Testament into the Bayash language. As many of you know who have followed us over the years, we translated 50 chronological Bible stories and the Gospel of Luke in 2018, but were unable to continue on with the rest of the NT due to a lack of translators. We now have the needed translators!

This language, Bayash, and a related language, Ludari, are spoken in the villages where we hold Bible clubs each summer. Please pray for a team to come with us this summer:
