Thank you for praying for us. As you may know from the previous post, we were delayed for two days getting to Croatia. Just today, our luggage finally arrived, another three days late (for a total of five days late). But, the team in Croatia, as well as all the summer teamers, have been great, have rolled with the changes, and have done a great job being flexible.
As of this writing, we have finished 2 of the 3 days of VBS and things have gone really well, by God’s grace. In the big village, we’ve had about 60 kids, and in the small village about 35.
We have taught stories from the Gospel of Luke, including Jesus’ calling of Peter, James and John, and later, Levi (Matthew), the raising from the dead of the only son of the widow from Nain, and the anointing of Jesus’ feet by the formerly sinful woman, at the house of Simon the Pharisee.
We’ve also taught them Bible verses, taught them about Jesus’ power to forgive our sins if we believe in him and follow him, sung many lively Bible songs, made hand crafts and played games.
Please pray as we have the final club meeting this evening (we’ve moved the time a bit later since it has been so hot here in the afternoons and we meet outside). Pray that the Lord will use His Word, which has been sown, and that it will bear much fruit in these two villages.
Please also pray for the next two days, as we have a day camp with a dozen or so tweens/teens from the big village. Our time will include sermons from Luke, testimonies, hand crafts and lots of games. Please pray for good Gospel conversations and that the Lord will draw these tweens/teens and their families to Christ.
Thank you for your prayers! Enjoy the rest of the pictures below.
