Here is our newest prayer card which we will be mailing & handing out when we are in the States August 2017-January 2018

Dear faithful prayer partners,

Thank you for your faithful prayers for us! Here are some prayer requests and answers to prayer:

  • On August 3 we fly to Kansas City to begin our six-month home assignment where we will be traveling and speaking at churches which support our ministry in prayer and finances. We’ll also get to see many of you friends who faithfully pray for and support us. Our home assignment is also a time to see our grown sons, Timothy and Jonathan, who live in the States, get Matthew settled in at Missouri State University, and visit our parents and siblings. I (Todd) will continue to work on the Roma Bible translation projects while in the States while communicating with our Roma Bible translators who will continue translating and sharing their work with me by e-mail and Internet.
  • The Lord has provided people to live in the house we rent in Budapest, Hungary, while we are gone. A young couple who met at Word of Life Bible Institute here in Hungary and go to our church in Budapest, will be getting married this Fall. He is from Brazil, she is from Hungary and they will be full-time missionaries with Cru. They were praying for an inexpensive place to live; we were praying for someone to take care of the house. When Pamala met with her recently to give advice about marriage, she found out about their need and we were able to offer that they stay in our house. It is great to see how God meets two needs at once!
  • Missionary friends with Pioneers will be able to take care of our two cats, Rengar and Lulu (pictured below--top photo).
  • Kirsten was able to attend the annual missionary kid camp with friends in Croatia.
  • Matthew was able to fly back to the States two weeks before us so he could attend a missionary kid re-entry transition seminar in Colorado Springs, as well as orientation at Missouri States University.
  • We are currently teaching English for a week to Hungarian youth at Lakitelek, Hungary. Pamala is teaching English classes and Todd is leading an English Bible reading class daily.  This ministry is part of how we obtain our visas.
  • We continue to be grateful for the $560,000 pledge from The Seed Company for our Bible translation work into five Roma dialects in Croatia and Serbia. Please pray for the translators as we are in the States, that they will have the Lord’s wisdom in translating, will be faithful and productive even in my absence, that the computer programs, tablets and Internet storage will work well so nothing is lost and they can maximize their translation time, and also for details for me  to return later this year (November) for a brief visit to each of the translators (such as Sasha pictured below--bottom photo--with me and Dr. David Ross, The Seed Company translation consultant).
Thank you for being such an important part of this team as you pray, give, and encourage us!
