Dear praying and praising friends,
Thank God with us for a special answer to prayer and please pray for three more:
1. TIMOTHY'S APARTMENT: We
had asked you all to pray for a room or apartment for Timothy in north
KC since he is living with us but we will be returning to Hungary in 2 1/2 weeks. The
Lord has provided in an amazing way, "above and beyond all that we could ask or think". Through our friend's sister, we found out about the music minister of a church in north KC who is renting out a room at a very affordable price (pun intended). He is from Oklahoma (so he has to be good, right?) graduated from OU and Midwestern Baptist (just gets better, doesn't it!), and wanted to bless someone by renting out a room in his newly remodeled house. Timothy was the lucky (I mean blessed!) recipient of his kindness and will move in a week before we leave for Hungary. We are so thankful for a good place for Timothy to live.
2. VISIT WITH FRIENDS: A few nights ago we had a Chinese friend over for supper, whom we had not seen for 2 1/2 years since we had been overseas. She had professed Christ, was baptized and was faithfully attending church the last we knew. We were very disheartened to find out the other night that she has not been to church for a year and we are concerned about her spiritually.
We also met her unbelieving boyfriend, from Italy. Though he had spent time in a monastery school as a teenager, he has not been to church for 20 years.
They joined us for our family worship time after supper where we sang a few Christmas hymns and then read the Gospel of John 3 and 4, along with a devotional challenging us to make it personal. Please pray for them both to faithfully follow Christ.
3. PACKING: Please pray for us as there is much to do to pack up for our return to Hungary, storing things we are leaving here, cleaning the house, and taking care of numerous loose ends. Please pray for grace, peace, patience with one another, and efficiency in getting everything done in time.
4. BIBLE TRANSLATION FUNDING: Please pray for the Lord's will and provision for funding to pay for the translation of 50 key Bible stories and chapters into 4 Roma dialects spoken in Hungary, Croatia and Serbia which have no Scripture in their dialects. We are expecting the projects to cost $50,000 and currently have received $5,000. We are so grateful for those who have given and for your gracious prayers.
