Subject: a very intense poem - The Meek

I'm sure some of you will relate to this experience.  Where you totally trusted someone or a situation and were totally betrayed, abandoned or somehow or another "screwed". Excuse the slang.

I had a few of those experiences in my life and although they were devastating at the time,I recognize the value now. I don't think I could be doing what I'm doing now if I didn't build my spiritual muscle by those kinds of experiences. The essential lesson was one of DISCERNMENT. People that are going to do you in usually generate warnings on some level. I missed seeing the signals because I wanted something out of the situation and my want blinded me. If you have some of these in your past, the key now is to let it go. To forgive the perpetrators and figure out what you wanted out of the situation that blinded you to what was really happening. Recognize it was a lesson you needed and thank them silently for the lesson. You're not a victim. You created the situation by your lack of discernment or perhaps feelings of unworthiness. And you won't have to do it again.

You'll note, that in the way the poem ends, I was already developing an unconscious understanding of the nature of soul level evolution......

The Meek           (c)2000 Wynn Free

God bless the innocent,

The naive, the gullible, the meek.

The world is waiting

To rape and plunder them.

Like lambs to the slaughter,

They readily give up

Whatever they have

To the next "kind" person,

The next well spoken,.

Sweet talking, manipulative bastard,

Who's learned to cloak his evil intentions

Beneath his seductive persona

The innocent, the naive, the gullible, the meek

See only the cheese

Until the trap snaps

And they are caught

And when nothing is left to be taken from them,

They are abandoned and left to bleed.

They are no longer the innocent, the naive,

The gullible, the meek.

They have joined a new club:

The victimized, the embittered, the deeply wounded,

Afraid to trust, afraid to love,

Withdrawing into the agony of their isolation,

Entering the "dark night" of their soul.

Hopefully they will'

Contemplate their weaknesses

And understand their pain.

If they truly succeed,

They will become members of

Yet a new club:

They will understand discernment and wisdom.

God bless the innocent, the naive, the gullible and the meek.

Perhaps the meek really shall inherit the earth,

But not right now.

Only after they've walked through the fires of hell,

Learned to stand up against the corrupt,

And recognize evil for what it is.

Only then shall the earth be theirs.

The irony is that!

They are no longer meek,

And they no longer want the earth.

They are already moving on to other worlds,

Other dimensions.

But that's ok.

There's a new crop of fresh faced innocents

 Ready to take their place.
