Hello, Writers!
My reading this week included Christine Lavin's autobiography, Cold Pizza for Breakfast. She's a folk singer and I've loved her music for decades, so it's been great spending a few hours listening to her read her book. It's also been interesting because part of the Vein of Gold workshop includes writing a long-form personal narrative, so listening to someone else's story is inspiring.
Also of interest this week... Amazon launched a new reading platform, Vella. The books and stories are being released in serialized format. I've launched my new sci-fi series, The Queer Planet, on Vella. You can read the first three episodes for free and they're also giving away 200 tokens (the currency on Vella) at no cost so you can keep reading if you want. Click to read.

Monday, July 19, at 7 pm Eastern: Feedback and Critique. Read a bit of your work and receive feedback from the group. $5. Register today.
Tuesday, July 20, at 7 pm Eastern: The Vein of Gold Workshop. (see above)
Thursday, July 22, at 1 pm Eastern (10 am Pacific): Fiction through Prompts. In this online, video conference webinar, you'll learn about a literary device and we'll write to a high-end prompt for 25 minutes and then, the group shares the results and offers feedback.
