Could your pet be malnourished? 5 things to look for

Hi Friend,

We all want our pets to be vibrant and healthy. There are certain tell-tale signs in any species that let you know at a glance when an individual isn't thriving.

The important thing is to be able to tell the difference between a healthy reptile and one that is lacking essential nutrition so that you can make the changes needed to get them healthy again!

In bearded dragons, here are the 5 most common signs of a nutritional imbalance (many of these apply to other reptiles as well):

  1. Thin tail

  2. Deflated fat pads

  3. Lethargy

  4. Rickets, bobblehead, or other signs of calcium deficiency

  5. Obesity

Keep an eye out for these signs and if you see them, contact your vet!

P.S. Dubia roaches are a great source of calcium and ideal for gut loading, to help your pet get the most nutritional value from their food possible!
