CHLQ received the following message, and the Board agrees this is important to share with the community at large:
"I wish to lodge a complaint.
It is with a heavy heart that I bring before this community a matter of grave olfactory concern.
During today's work, an overt rose fragrance was circulating. As you know, this is a flagrant violation of our own guidelines, which state plainly that scented products are not to be worn to services. I did not try to determine the culpable member(s). But I will say this: someone in this parish smells like a Victorian funeral parlor, and it is time for the truth to come out.
I have tried to bear this cross with patience. I have tried offering it up. But there comes a point where suffering stops being sanctifying. I have reached that point.
I ask that CHLQ send an official reminder email to all members regarding the fragrance-free policy already in place. Let this be a season of renewal: renewed lungs, renewed peace, and renewed appreciation for the noble scent of nothing at all.
Thank you for treating this matter with the gravity that it demands."
