Tennessee’s Gun Laws Are Falling — Help Us Finish the Fight
Tennessee is no longer fighting theoretical battles over the Second Amendment.
We are fighting — and winning — real cases with real consequences.
In
2025 alone, the
Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA) and the
Tennessee Firearms Foundation (TFF) have joined as
amicus parties in at least 14 federal cases,
nine of them before the United States Supreme Court. (See for example the amicus brief filed in
Wolford et al v. Lopez et al, No: 24-1046, November 24, 2025) These cases are shaping how courts across the country interpret the right to keep and bear arms. This is significant when governors and legislators in
certain Republican controlled states, like Tennessee, are knowingly failing to do so.
But the most consequential fight is happening here at home.
Hughes v. Lee: A Historic Tennessee Case
TFA and TFF are helping fund the litigation in Stephen Hughes et al. v. Bill Lee et al., a direct constitutional challenge to Tennessee gun control statutes. In that case:
• A three-judge trial court ruled that two Tennessee firearm statutes are unconstitutional
• One of those statutes was the long-abused “intent to go armed” law
• The State has appealed, and the case is now on a path that is likely to end before the Tennessee Supreme Court
This is not symbolic litigation. These rulings already represent one of the most significant Second Amendment victories in Tennessee history — and the State is fighting hard to reverse them.
Litigation at This Level Is Expensive — and Necessary
Constitutional litigation does not end with a trial-court victory. Appeals, briefing, expert analysis, and long-term strategy require serious financial resources. The costs incurred so far are substantial, and the costs ahead will be greater.
If these victories are to stand — and if Tennessee is to finally recognize true constitutional carry — sustained financial support is essential.
Two Organizations. One Mission. Different Roles.
Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA) — 501(c)(4)TFA is a membership-based organization engaged in:
• Political advocacy
• Legislative action
• Strategic public-interest litigation
If you are not a member,
now is the time to join.
If you are already a member, we ask you to make a
supplemental member donation to help drive constitutional carry through
legislation or the courts.
Tennessee Firearms Foundation (TFF) — 501(c)(3)
TFF is a charitable organization dedicated to:
• Public education on the Second Amendment
• Funding and expanding constitutional litigation
• Supporting long-term legal strategies that protect fundamental rights
Contributions to TFF are tax-deductible and go directly toward litigation like Hughes, future cases that will define the limits of government power over lawful citizens and to help citizens better understand the tyranny that exists in Tennessee through intentional government infringement of your rights.
Why This Moment Matters
Rights are not lost overnight — and they are not secured by accident. They are preserved only when people are willing to invest the time, effort, and resources to defend them.
The courts are listening. Victories are being won.
But momentum only continues if it is supported.
If you believe Tennessee should be a state where constitutional rights are respected, enforced, and defended, we ask you to stand with us now — as a member, as a donor, and as part of this fight.
Thank you for your support and your commitment to liberty.
