Lobby Day March 16 and Legislative Calendar for the week of February 14
Legislative Calendar - Week of February 7

There are 7 tracked bills that are calendar for hearings this week.  These bills, the committee date and times and contact information are in the attached PDF.  Please remember to contact not only your own House and Senate members on these bills but to also contact the committee members if you support or oppose the bills.  Please contact your legislators with your comments on these bills and we encourage you to directly contact (emails included) the committee members.

HB2330 extends all existing handgun permits to become life permits.  While this is a concept that TFA will support it is unclear if existing lifetime permit holders will get any refunds or if this is simply a huge, taxpayer funded gift to those who do not already have lifetime permits.   We expect a large fiscal note to kill the bill unless those costs are included in the governor's budget.

HB2724 is a dangerous step back relative to your right to store a firearm in a personal vehicle.  TFA opposes the bill.

HB2869 has to do with hunting over baited fields.  TFA has not taken a position on this bill.

HB1830 is an effort by the bill sponsors to make gun control a public health issue.  TFA opposes this bill.
